AbleNet Announces Acquisition of Keys-U-See® Large Print Keyboards from Genesis Worldwide Enterprises

St. Paul, MN – January 4, 2011 – AbleNet, Inc. announced today the acquisition of the Keys-U-See® Large Print Keyboard product line from Genesis Worldwide Enterprises, Inc., a leading wholesale supplier and OEM provider of audio and computer accessories as well as low-vision computing products. The acquisition includes large print, high-visibility keyboards in English and multiple foreign languages plus the brand's popular wireless keyboards with matching mouse in adult and children's models. AbleNet began serving the low-vision market with the August 2010 introduction of the Boost Personal Video Magnifier™, which is achieving strong sales and market interest.

"We are very enthusiastic about expanding the AbleNet global product portfolio and this acquisition of Keys-U-See high-visibility keyboards increases our ability to serve adults and children by expanding our low vision and computer access lines," said Jen Thalhuber, AbleNet CEO. "AbleNet is aggressively increasing its product offerings to serve more disability markets with powerful yet easy-to-use assistive technology."

According to Bob Flynn, president and CEO of Genesis Worldwide Enterprises, the acquisition of the Keys-U-See product line by AbleNet will benefit both the assistive technology (AT) distribution channels and end users.

"We specialize in development and OEM production of computer and assistive technologies," notes Flynn. "With AbleNet's acquisition, we will have the opportunity to expand our focus on AT product development and supply while AbleNet increases access to Keys-U-See products through its extensive global reseller network."

The Keys-U-See® brand of large-print keyboards comes in many different languages including: German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, and UK English. The acquisition also includes the original line of specialty keyboards designed with high-contrast yellow keys and black type, a scientifically proven combination that those with certain types of visual impairment can see easily.

Earlier in 2010, the new Keys-U-See for Kids™ color keyboard was introduced for young learners. It uses a brilliant color palette to create visual groupings for vowels, consonants and grammar keys. These features help children at home and in school to develop key recognition while reinforcing spelling skills.
