Phoenix, AZ – May 20, 2010 – The Key Connection®, a division of U.S.-based Genesis Worldwide Enterprises, Inc., has announced the launch of a year-long research initiative to develop personal computer end-user data regarding assistive technology.
Participants can post their opinions anonymously. Results of the program will be made available to the industry and media free of charge.
“We have more than 10 years experience in the assistive technology (AT) industry, but we often cannot find adequate empirical data and qualitative user response that might help us design better products for our resellers,” noted Robert Flynn, CEO of Genesis Worldwide. “We hope that in the months to come we will generate valuable new information and insight into what AT users want and need.”
New surveys will be posted every 30 days to generate quantitative and qualitative user and retailer data about keyboards and other AT computer accessories including specifics about design, style, comfort, user interface, and other topics. The program’s initial research survey to determine key style preferences for computer keyboards among the visually impaired has been posted on the company’s website at
www.keyconnection.com.
The Key Connection develops computer keyboards and other assistive technology products to help the visually impaired at work and for home computing. It’s proprietary Keys-U-See line of large print keyboards are specifically designed for those who have difficulty seeing the existing commands on the standard keyboard, particularly those with conditions that cause visual impairment or low vision such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, or age. The keyboards are available in U.S. English and a number of foreign language versions, including French (Euro and French Canadian), Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Italian, and Spanish (Latin American).
